July 6 - Day 38 - Thunder Bay to near Rossport
We pedalled a tough 140km today. There were quite a few hills. The sun was shining and we were hot. The day took a little bit of energy out of us. Adam fixed us up with ham sandwiches for lunch and we refilled our water which we were going through like crazy. We found the Rossport provincial campsite for the night and had smokies for supper. We went to bed around 7pm.
July 7 - Day 39 - Day off
So, we've already messed up our itinerary. We were still totally wiped out in the morning, so we decided to take the day off. We were able to check into a motel room early that morning and we just totally vegged all day watching tv. We were kind of lucky because it stormed all afternoon and all night.
July 8 - Day 40 - Rossport to Marathon
It was another tough day - 120km. The terrain in northern Ontario is prooving to be quite a challenging ride. Jordie is just guzzling back the water - she even had to drink some of Dan's today. Adam fixed us up again with a good lunch and then met us near Marathon later in the afternoon. We are staying at a campsite in town - Penn Lake Park campground. It will be another early night.

Jordie;
From all accounts anyone who has ever challenged northern Ontario on a bike has shared your complaints; don't let the granite get you down. "Land of the silver birch, home of the beaver...." the terrain is so memorable someone wrote a song about it. You are doing an awesome job, and I am so proud. Know that we love you. Pedal safe, pedal hard, pedal home
(eventually). Your journey is the kind of inspriation many a great Canadian novelist has used to create a great tale; Farley Mowat is sure to come knocking. Nancy xoxo
Hey guys! You're doing tremendous. I get goose-bumpy each time I check your site and find out how much further you've gone. You're cycling faster that I can keep up. Sure proud of you. I'm spreading the word. Hi's and hugs to you all and to Adam too - what a good friend to have.
